Well-Architected compliance and remediation for a SaaS technology platform.

Enhanced security, improved reliability with multi-AZ deployment, optimised resource allocation and monitoring.

WAFR
Well-Architected compliance achieved across 5 pillars
Multi-AZ
High-availability deployment replacing single-AZ

Challenge

Ctrl Technologies engaged CloudZA to strengthen the architecture of their production application through a comprehensive Well-Architected Framework Review (WAFR). This strategic assessment was designed to identify critical areas for improvement in the application's infrastructure, ensuring it meets industry best practices for security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimisation, and operational excellence.

Solution

Working closely with Ctrl Technologies, CloudZA implemented targeted remediation strategies across all five Well-Architected pillars. In the Security pillar, data protection was enhanced by implementing encryption at rest and in transit, while IAM policies were strengthened. For Reliability, the team improved fault tolerance through multi-AZ deployment and implemented robust backup strategies.

Under Performance Efficiency, instance sizing was optimised and auto-scaling policies were implemented to handle varying workloads. Cost Optimisation measures included implementing proper tagging strategies and right-sizing resources based on actual usage patterns. For Operational Excellence, comprehensive monitoring and logging solutions were established, along with automated deployment pipelines.

Result

By addressing these key concerns, Ctrl Technologies' application now operates on a more robust and optimised foundation, better positioned to serve their customers while maintaining high standards of security and performance.
